Local Food Book is a project with the goal of creating a book highlighting the wealth of local food and drink available to all. Whether you go to local food markets, farmers markets or farm shops you will find that there are more passionate food and drink producers in your area. We do not have to make do with the manufactured and processed food we find in supermarkets. The convenience of these foods is obvious but we can find better quality food that has not traveled vast distances or been processed removing much of the goodness of fresher local food.
The plan is to start with one book. Depending on its success, to create further books covering different areas of the country. If you are interested in food and drink this project is one that you can support by donating at Crowdfunder . Please head there and make a donation to help produce the first book.
The first book is targeting the Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire area. With its many farmers and food markets, the area is blessed with a wide array of food and drink producers. This is a cause for celebration and by bringing the producers together with a chef the outcome will be delicious recipes that you can cook at home.
The project is the idea of Paul Bellchambers (The Late Chef) who started his catering business in 2009. He has cooked for many clients, private and corporate. Through his passion for local food he founded the Wallingford Food Festival in 2011, which won awards from Tourism South East and highlighted the wonderful range of great food and drink produced in the area.
